The International Association of HealthCare Professionals is pleased to welcome Ashley Doucette, MD, to their prestigious organization with her upcoming publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Ashley Doucette is a highly-trained and qualified Psychiatrist with extensive expertise in all facets of her work, especially in the treatment of mood disorders, psychosis, and opiate dependency. Dr. Doucette has been a licensed physician in Louisiana for more than seven years and currently serves patients within her own consultative and treatment practice, Doucette Consultants, LLC. Previous roles included Medical Director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at New Orleans East Hospital, Southwest Louisiana Primary Care Clinic in Opelousas, LA, and the Positive Living Treatment Center in New Orleans. Dr. Doucette was the first African American Women to be selected as Deputy Psychiatric Coroner, under the direction of former mentor and currently elected Coroner Dr. Jeffery Rouse for over 5 years at the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office.

Dr. Ashley Doucette graduated with her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health Dual Degree in 2009 from Tulane University School of Medicine and Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since graduating, Dr. Doucette has become a regular face and voice on local television and radio shows such as WBOK radio and Cox Cable NOA-TV with host Dr. Gary Clark. She speaks annually for the Xavier University Pre Medicine Society, was a 2016 Guest Speaker for Positive Living Treatment Center Fundraiser, and was a Presenter at the Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselors and Trainers 37th Annual Conference.
To keep up to date with the latest advances and developments in her challenging field, Dr. Doucette maintains a professional membership with the American Psychiatric Association and Robert Heath Society for Tulane alumni from the Department of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, the first African American sorority founded in 1908, where she has vowed to fulfill a lifelong commitment to their motto "service to all mankind". This lifelong commitment to service continues to inspire her in her daily life and allows. As a member of this prestigious organization, it allows Dr. Doucette to service her community outside of practicing medicine through a variety of activities, volunteering, leadership and mentorship, as well as scholarship and fundraising events.
Dr. Doucette attributes her success to prayer, dedication and commitment to providing attentive, compassionate and genuine care to her patients who may feel she is their last hope. Dr. Doucette is a former NBA Cheerleader, and when she is not assisting her patients, she enjoys boxing, baking, and spending time with her three French Bulldogs.
